SEATTLE (Nov. 20) -- Carli Smith, the state B
level player of the year from Spokane's Valley Christian High
School, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball
for Seattle Pacific University next season.
Smith, a 5-foot-11 senior, averaged 20.4 points
and 12.4 rebounds for the Panthers as a junior, leading them to a
record of 26-2 and third place in the state tournament.
Smith is the only recruit signed by SPU Coach
Gordy Presnell during the early signing period. The Falcons,
currently ranked 20th in NCAA Division II, are defending Great
Northwest Athletic Conference champions and have earned NCAA
playoff berths each of the last five seasons. |
