Falcons Volleyball Falls to Vikings
November 10, 2001

SEATTLE (Nov. 10) —Leah Wiiest (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Deer Park/Cornell) led the Seattle Pacific volleyball team with 14 kills in a 32-34, 30-28, 30-25, 30-27 loss to Western Washington University in a season finale conference matchup Saturday at Brougham Pavilion. WWU is currently ranked No. 23 in the AVCA national poll and No. 2 in the NCAA West Region; SPU is ranked No. 5 in the region.

The Falcons (12-6, 20-7) roared out of the starting gates against the newly-crowned GNAC champion Vikings (18-0, 23-4), taking the first game in a hard-fought duel. The momentum swung back in the favor of WWU by the second game and the Vikings fended off the Falcons for the remainder of the match.

Lesley Kamphouse (Sr., Sumas, Wa./Nooksack Valley) and Monica Abrahamson (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Rogers) joined Wiiest in double-figures with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. The Falcons recorded a season-high 116 digs, led by a season-high 31 from Leilani Kamahoahoa (Sr., Oregon City, Or./Canby).

Shannon Rowland led the Vikings with 15 kills.
