SEATTLE (Nov. 10) -- Seattle Pacific University wrapped-up the autumn rowing season by winning one race and finishing second in another at the 20th annual Head of the Lake Regatta Saturday on Lake Union. The Falcons won the women's lightweight four category and they were runners-up in the women's open four, finishing 8 seconds behind Washington.

The SPU men's varsity four placed a respectable fifth, with the Huskies cruising to a comfortable 26-second win. The spring rowing schedule begins March 23 with the Raptor Cup versus Seattle University.

Crews from throughout the West raced along a 2.8-mile course which began on the north end of the lake and passed through Portage Bay and the Montlake Cut into Union Bay.
