SEATTLE (Oct. 19) -- Cathleen Price (Fr.
Gresham, Or./Sam Barlow) slammed 13 kills to lead the Seattle
Pacific University volleyball team, but it was not enough to beat
Central Washington as the Falcons fell 30-21, 34-32, 30-25 in a
conference matchup Friday in Ellensburg.
The Falcons are currently ranked fifth in the
NCAA Pacific Region and the Wildcats are ranked eighth.
After winning their last two matches at home,
the Falcons (15-5, 8-4 GNAC) came out cold against the Wildcats
(12-8, 8-4) who were seeking their second upset of SPU this
season. Leah Wiiest (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Deer Park/Cornell) joined
Price as the only two Falcons in double-figures kills with 12.
The Falcon offense was held to just .123
hitting and lost the war at the net with just four blocks,
compared to the Wildcats who finished with 14.
Gita Burke led the Wildcats in kills with 14.
The Falcons are back in action tomorrow when
they travel to Saint Martin's College for a 7 p.m. match.
