ELLENSBURG (Oct. 15)- Seattle Pacific
University dropped its second game in a row as Cicely Tyler's
first half goal gave Central Washington its first conference
victory over SPU 1-0, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference
women's soccer match in Ellensburg, Monday afternoon.
The Falcons (5-3, 6-8-1) went into the match
shaky after dropping a 0-1 contest to cross town rival Seattle
University last week, and the loss to the Wildcats may cost SPU at
least a share of first place in the GNAC.
Just over 13-minutes into a very physical game,
Tyler headed in an Elizabeth Medford corner kick for the only
score of the afternoon (13:35).
The Falcons out shot Central 17-15, but could
not equalize.
Keeper Jennifer Hull (Fr., Eugene, Or./Sheldon)
saved seven shots in goal for SPU.
Seattle Pacific kicks off a three game home
stand with a match against Humboldt State next Monday night (Oct.
22) at Interbay. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00. There are just
four regular season GNAC games remaining.
Scoring:
1, CWU Tyler (Medford) 13:35.
Shots: CWU 15, SPU 17.
Saves: CWU (Barber) 7; SPU (Hull 7).
Corner Kicks: CWU 6, SPU 3.
Fouls: CWU 24, SPU 12. |
