SEATTLE (Oct. 12) -- Cathleen Price (Fr.,
Gresham, Or./Sam Barlow) slammed 11 kills and six blocks to lead
the Seattle Pacific volleyball team to a sweep over Humboldt State
University, 30-24, 30-17, 30-21, in a conference matchup Friday at
Brougham Pavilion. The Falcons are currently ranked 5th in the
NCAA West Region.
After missing six matches due to injury,
Leilani Kamahoahoa (Sr., Oregon City, Or./Canby) returned to the
lineup tonight to help boost the Falcons (7-3, 14-4) past the
Jacks (1-9, 4-15) in a three-game sweep. Kamahoahoa recorded two
kills, two service aces and five digs in limited action.
Price was the lone Falcon in double-figures on
offense while the SPU defense stole the show. SPU recorded 10 team
blocks, out dug the Jacks 58 to 41 and held them to just .033
hitting. Carri Colvin (Jr., Brush Prairie, Wa./Prairie) and Katy
Higgins (So., Kirkland, Wa./Redmond) led the team in digs with 14
apiece. Higgins also led the assist effort with 28.
SPU hosts GNAC opponent Western Oregon
University tomorrow night at Brougham Pavilion. The match is
scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
