SEATTLE (Oct. 3) -- Cathleen Price slammed 18
kills to lead the Seattle Pacific Volleyball team past Saint
Martin's College, 17-30, 30-24, 30-24, 30-14, in a conference
matchup Wednesday night at Brougham Pavilion. The victory is the
Falcons fifth straight.
Forced to play without the injured Leilani
Kamahoahoa (Sr., Oregon City, Or./Canby) and Leah Wiiest (Sr.,
Spokane/Deer Park/Cornell) who is ill, the Falcons (6-2, 13-3)
started slow against the Saints (2-5, 5-14). The Falcons dropped
the first game after hitting just .049, but were able to rally
behind the hot hand of Price to finish the final three games
easily.
Two other Falcons, Monica Abrahamson (Sr.,
Spokane, Wa./Rogers) and Carri Colvin (Jr., Brush Prairie,
Wa./Prairie), joined Price with double-double kill and dig totals.
Abrahamson finished with 14 kills and 10 digs while Colvin added
13 kills and a team-high 17 digs. Lesley Kamphouse (Sr., Sumas,
Wa./Nooksack Valley) nailed 11 kills for a .308 hitting
percentage.

finished with a team-high four service aces and Katy Higgins (So.,
Kirkland, Wa./Redmond) recorded 55 assists to lift the Falcons.
Alicia Denny paced the Saints with nine kills
and 12 digs.
