Fairbanks, Alaska (Sept. 29) -- Cathleen Price
(Fr., Gresham, Or./Sam Barlow) recorded 17 kills and 15 digs to
lead the Seattle Pacific volleyball team past University of
Alaska-Fairbanks, 30-32, 30-25, 30-25, 30-15, in a conference
matchup Saturday night at the Patty Center.
The Falcons (12-3, 5-2) started slow against
the Nanooks (3-2, 6-4), dropping the first game in a hard-fought
battle, 30-32, but rallied to win the final three games to clinch
their fourth consecutive GNAC conference victory.
Price led the Falcons in kills and co-led the
team in digs alongside Carrie Colvin (Jr., Vancouver, Wa./Prairie)
who also notched 15. Price has led the Falcons in kills in two
consecutive matches since returning to the lineup following an
ankle sprain.
Leah Wiiest (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Deer
Park/Cornell) pitched in for 12 kills and 13 digs while Monica
Abrahamson (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Rogers) added 11 kills and 14 digs.
Katy Higgins (So., Kirkland, Wa./Redmond) and Abrahamson led the
team in service aces with three apiece.
The Falcons return home to Brougham Pavilion
Wednesday night, Oct. 3, to play a postponed match with St.
Martin's College at 7 p.m.
