Falcons Roll Past Nanooks
September 29, 2001

Fairbanks, Alaska (Sept. 29) -- Cathleen Price (Fr., Gresham, Or./Sam Barlow) recorded 17 kills and 15 digs to lead the Seattle Pacific volleyball team past University of Alaska-Fairbanks, 30-32, 30-25, 30-25, 30-15, in a conference matchup Saturday night at the Patty Center.

The Falcons (12-3, 5-2) started slow against the Nanooks (3-2, 6-4), dropping the first game in a hard-fought battle, 30-32, but rallied to win the final three games to clinch their fourth consecutive GNAC conference victory.

Price led the Falcons in kills and co-led the team in digs alongside Carrie Colvin (Jr., Vancouver, Wa./Prairie) who also notched 15. Price has led the Falcons in kills in two consecutive matches since returning to the lineup following an ankle sprain.

Leah Wiiest (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Deer Park/Cornell) pitched in for 12 kills and 13 digs while Monica Abrahamson (Sr., Spokane, Wa./Rogers) added 11 kills and 14 digs. Katy Higgins (So., Kirkland, Wa./Redmond) and Abrahamson led the team in service aces with three apiece.

The Falcons return home to Brougham Pavilion Wednesday night, Oct. 3, to play a postponed match with St. Martin's College at 7 p.m.
