SEATTLE (Sept. 10) -- Michael Schefter of Seattle Pacific University was selected as Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer co-player of the week after scoring three goals in the Falcons' road wins in California.

Schefter (So., Yakima, Wa./West Valley), a midfielder, scored twice in a 3-1 victory at UC San Diego last Thursday, with his older brother Bobby, a senior, coming off the bench to add the team's final goal. Michael, who also hit the net in the 4-1 win at Cal Poly Pomona, leads the team with four goals this season.

Seattle Pacific (3-3-0) opens GNAC play Wednesday night at Western Washington. Seattle University forward Ian Chursky shared the award with Schefter.
