SEATTLE (Sept. 3) -- Leilani Kamahoahoa of
Seattle Pacific University was selected as co-volleyball player of
the week for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference after helping
the Falcons sweep their four matches at the SPU Invitational over
the weekend.
Kamahoahoa (Sr., Oregon City, Or.) hit for 56
kills and a .309 percentage last week and added 13 aces, 55 digs
and 12 blocks. Along the way she became the Falcons' career leader
in kills, surpassing Danielle Dettorre.
She was named to the all-tournament team along
with teammates Leah Wiiest and Katy Higgins. Wiiest was voted the
tourney MVP. Among SPU?s four wins was a 3-1 victory over No.
21-ranked Cal State Los Angeles.
She shared the award with Central Washington's
Carolyn Mires. Kamahoahoa led the Falcons to a four-match sweep in
the SPU Invitational at Royal Brougham. Seattle Pacific (7-1)
opens GNAC play Thursday at Western Oregon. |
