SEATTLE (Aug. 31) -- Angie Ocampo, a 1999
graduate of Vancouver's Mountain View High School, has signed a
scholarship agreement to compete in track & field for Seattle
Pacific University next season.
Ocampo, who will be a junior, competed the past
two years for Clark Community College where she was one of the top
sprinters and hurdlers in the Northwest Athletic Association of
Community Colleges (NWAACC). Her top marks in 2001 were 12.85 in
the 100 meters, 26.59 in the 200 and 16.64 in the 100 hurdles.
SPU Coach Jack Hoyt plans to train Ocampo for
the heptathlon. Last spring the Falcons won their second straight
Pacific West Conference title and finished ninth in NCAA Division
II. |
