HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (Aug. 23) -- In the
first and only dress rehearsal before its inaugural women's soccer
game, Seattle Pacific University edged Concordia 1-0 Thursday
afternoon in a preseason exhibition.
Andrea Larsen, a senior (Portland, Or./Central
Catholic) transfer from Oklahoma State, scored the game's deciding
goal midway through the second half. Larsen, who had a goal called
back in the first period, struck a low 20-yard shot which slipped
inside the far post.
Freshman goalie Jennifer Hull (Eugene,
Or./Sheldon) made three saves to get the shutout. Coach Bobby
Bruch used all 16 of his available players.
The Falcons's official debut comes Saturday
afternoon (Aug. 25)) at San Diego's Point Loma Nazarene. The home
opener is Sept. 8 versus Central Washington at Interbay Stadium. |
