SEATTLE (May 23) -- Julie Evin of Vancouver, Wa., has signed a national letter of intent to compete in gymnastics for Seattle Pacific University in 2002.

Evin, who attends Mountain View High School and competes for American Elite Gymnastics in Oregon, qualified for the Level 10 Nationals 1998, 1999 and 2000. She finished fourth in the 2000 regional. Her cousin, Jennifer Christman of Fairfield, Ca., will be a sophomore for the Seattle Pacific team in 2002.

Seattle Pacific is one of the top small college programs in the nation with three national championships and 18 straight top-four national finishes, including third at the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships last month.
