RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (Apr. 28) -- Seattle
Pacific University stroked to regional victories in the men's
lightweight four and women's novice light fours at the Western
Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Lake Natoma.
The Falcons also got a runner-up finish out of
the women's varsity four while the men's novice four took a
bronze.
For the men's light four it was their third
straight victory, but it was a close one as conference rival
Pacific Lutheran finished less than a boat-length behind.
The women's light novice four remained unbeaten
in three outings this season, crossing the line with some open
water on second-place UC Santa Barbara.
In the women's varsity four final, SPU went
bow-to-bow with San Diego State, coming in second by just 1
second.
Seattle Pacific's varsity four crews will
participate in the Windermere Cup Opening Day Regatta Saturday in
the Montlake Cut.
