SEATTLE (April 25) -- Two-time state 800-meter finalist Josie Lavin of Bremerton High School has signed a national letter of intent to compete in track & field for Seattle Pacific University next year.

Lavin was third in the state 4A championships last year and eighth in the 1998 3A meet while a freshman at Holy Names.

Seattle Pacific is the defending Pacific West Conference women's champion and the Falcons' Rachel Ross is this season's NCAA Division II qualifying leader in the 1500 meters and No. 3 in the 800.
