SEATTLE (Apr. 24) -- Trisha Hermanson, the top
scorer for Buckley's White River High School this past season, has
signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for Seattle
Pacific University.
Hermanson, a 5-foot-6 guard, averaged 16.6
points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals as the Hornets went 21-7, won
the Pierce County League and finished seventh in the state 3A
tournament. She was named the league's MVP and participated in the
Washington-Oregon all-star game.
The Falcons finished this past season with a
record of 24-5, champions of the Pacific West Conference and
runner-up in the West Region of NCAA Division II. They lost four
seniors to graduation, including the entire starting frontline.
Earlier in the month, Kelley Berglund, the
starting center for Washington State, announced she would transfer
to SPU. Last fall, Coach Gordy Presnell signed five recruits, all
freshmen, to national letters of intent. Among them was 4A state
player of the year Emily Faurholt of Kennewick. |
