LOS ANGELES (Mar. 26) -- Alison Siegel and Cassie Althauser of the Seattle Pacific University gymnastics team have qualified as individuals for the NCAA West Regional Apr. 7 at Pauley Pavilion.

Siegel (Jr., Oakland, Ca.) will compete in the vault while Althauser (Sr., Centralia, Wa.) in is the field for the balance beam. Siegel set the SPU vault record of 9.850 earlier this season and she tops the USA Gymnastics (Division II) in season vault average. Althauser ranks No. 3 nationally in USAG and has a high score of 9.875.

Full teams which will be involved in the West Regional include host UCLA, the No. 1 team in Div. I, No. 11 Brigham Young, No. 13 Oregon State, California, Cal State Fullerton and Boise State.
