SEATTLE -- Seattle Pacific University forwards
John Hubbard (Sr., 6-5, Inglewood, Ca) and Brannon Stone (Jr.,
6-9, Oak Harbor, Wa.) were repeat selections to the all-Pacific
West Conference team announced Monday.
The Falcons, who open NCAA Division II
tournament play Thursday night, also had guard Nick Johnson (Jr.,
6-3, Burlington, Wa./Burlington-Edison) voted to the second team.
Hubbard, who tops SPU in scoring at 19.2 points
per game, was named to the first team by a vote of the coaches.
Stone, the team leader in assists (3.5), blocked shots (2.0),
steals (1.8), free throw accuracy (83 percent), co-leader in
rebounds (6.3) and No. 2 in scoring (14.9) was a second team
selection. Johnson is averaging 13.5 points and 4.6 rebounds in
his first year as a starter. He leads the PacWest in 3-point
accuracy (52 percent, 31-60).
Seattle Pacific (21-5) faces Central Washington
in the opening round of the West regional Thursday at 6p.m. in
Bellingham.
Ed Kirk, Alaska Anchorage guard Ed Kirk was
named player of the year and Brad Jackson, who directed Western
Washington to the PacWest men's title, was named coach of the
