SEATTLE (Feb. 19) -- After a five-week absence,
the Seattle Pacific University men's basketball team is back in
the NCAA Division II national rankings at No. 24. The Falcons
(12-3, 19-4) have won seven in a row and 11 of their last 12 games
going into Thursday night's Pacific West Conference home game with
Humboldt State.
SPU had been a fixture in the poll from
preseason to Jan. 7, rising as high as No. 15 the week of Dec. 18.
Two of the teams to defeat Seattle Pacific this
season are once again including in the national rankings. Cal
State San Bernardino is No. 6 and Western Washington, which visits
SPU Mar. 3., is No. 16.
A new women's national poll will be released
Tuesday (Feb. 20). Seattle Pacific was No. 19 last week.
