SEATTLE (Feb. 19) -- Gyongyver "Gus"
Balogh and Brannon Stone, standout forwards on Seattle Pacific
University's women's and men's basketball teams, respectively,
were selected as Pacific West Conference players of the week.
Balogh (Sr., 5-11, Szombathely, Hungary) scored
32 points and also pulled down 15 rebounds as the Falcons (14-3,
20-3) opened a two-game lead over Northwest Nazarene in the
PacWest race with road wins at Alaska Fairbanks and Alaska
Anchorage.
Stone (Jr., 6-9, Oak Harbor, Wa.) is coming off
the most productive week of his career. He poured in a career-high
30 points and had 11 rebounds versus Saint Martin's and followed
that with 28 points, 10 boards, four assists, four steals and
three blocked shots in Saturday's 83-82 overtime win over Central
Washington.
