MOSCOW, Id. (Feb. 17) -- Seattle Pacific
University junior Rachel Ross, following a solid performance the
previous night, ran to third place in the women's mile at the
Vandal Indoor track & field meet Saturday in the Kibbie Dome.
Ross (Jr., Kennewick, Wa.), who had been second
in the 800-meter with a time of 2:11.19 Friday, was timed in 5
minutes, 7.94 seconds. Nicole Hunt was the winner in 5:00.87 and
Washington State's Ryanne Gilmore was runner-up in 5:04.05.
Leading the SPU men was Zeph Shepard (Fr.,
North Easton, Ma.) was third in the long jump at 22 feet, 3 1/2
inches.
Two other women finished among the top seven in
their events. Morgan Ranta (Jr., Kent, Wa./Kentridge) was sixth in
the long jump (17-11 1/2) and Dionna Anderson (Jr., Lynnwood,
Wa./Edmonds-Woodway) put the shot 41-0 1/4 for seventh.
The Falcons begin the outdoor season Mar. 3 at
the Husky Preview. |
