BOISE, Id.-Kim Carey danced a career-high on
floor exercise and Cassie Althauser swung a season best on the
uneven bars as Seattle Pacific University scored a 191.450, the
fifth best team score in school history, in a gymnastics meet
Saturday night at Boise State University.
The Falcons (3-5) finished in third place,
ahead of UC Santa Barbara's 189.500, but well short of host Boise
State's 195.450 and Cal State Fullerton's 194.225.
Carey (Sr., Everett, Wa./Mariner) won the
highest score by a Seattle Pacific athlete in the meet on floor
exercise during the second rotation.
The senior danced a career-high 9.800 and
earned a 9.650 on the uneven bars.
Cassie Althauser (Sr., Centralia, Wa.) enjoyed
a successful night on the mats. The senior swung a team high 9.700
on the uneven bars and balanced a 9.650 on beam. Alison Siegel
(Jr., Oakland, Ca./Redwood Christian) vaulted a team best 9.725
and tumbled a 9.750 on floor.
The Falcons, head back to Seattle for a
Saturday afternoon home meet against Sacramento State. Official
start time is scheduled for 1:00.
