RENO, Nv. (Feb. 3) -- Freshman pole vaulter
Ally Studer cleared a career-best height and finished sixth as the
Seattle Pacific University women's track & field team opened
its indoor season at the Silver State Invitational.
Studer, a graduate of Redmond High School, went
over the bar at 11 feet, 5 3/4 inches, and just clipped the bar on
her second attempt at 12 feet later.
Karen Summers (Sr., Bremerton, Wa./Seattle
Christian) won her 400-meter dash heat in 57.54 seconds while
teammate Cyrena Bell (Sr., Kent, Wa./Christian Faith) won hers in
57.91. Both participated in the 4 x 400 relay which was timed in
4:01.57.
Summers also ran the hurdles in 8.70 and Sarah
Kraybill (So., Seattle, Wa./Ballard) completed the 800 meters in
2:22.91.
In other results, Laura Widman (Jr., Colfax,
Wa.) went 37-4 in the shot put, high-jumped 5-0 and ran the 55
hurdles in 8.81 seconds. Amy Cowden (Sr., Seattle, Wa./ Seattle
Christian) also jumped 5-0, and long-jumped 16-10 1/2 and
triple-jumped 34-0 1/2. |
