SEATTLE, Wa.--Alison Siegel set a school record
on balance beam as Seattle Pacific University posted a 191.475,
the seventh best score on the school's all-time list, but it was
not enough to dull a 193.425 team score by visitor San Jose State
in a gymnastics meet Saturday night at Brougham Pavilion.
Seattle Pacific's score marked the second week
in a row the Falcons (2-3) had tumbled off a top ten all-time
mark. The Falcons hit 191.875 in a tri-meet at the University of
Washington last week. Siegel (Jr., Oakland, Ca.) earned a 9.925 on
the balance beam during the third rotation, eclipsing Erica
Thompson's 9.900 set in 1994. The junior also won top honors on
vault (9.800).
Erin Kawasaki (Sr., Seattle, Wa.) swung the
uneven bars for a second place 9.825 and Kristin Strid (So.,
Kingsburg, Ca.) won silver in the all-around, completing the four
events for a 38.675.
The Falcons travel down the coast to Sacramento
State for a Friday night (Feb. 9) meet. Official start time is
scheduled for 7:00 P.M. |
