ANCHORAGE, Ak.- Kristin Strid won the
all-around competition and Erin Kawasaki won the uneven bars and
the balance beam as Seattle Pacific University beat Alaska
Anchorage to in a gymnastics meet Saturday night at the UAA Sports
Center.
The Falcons (2-0) swept the bars behind
Kawasaki's 9.625 and nearly swept the beam as well. Kawasaki (Jr.,
Seattle, Wa./Kennedy) walked the beam for a career high 9.800.
Strid (So., Kingsburg, Ca./Joint Union) scored
a 37.675 in the all-around, edging Anchorage's Mandi Burdick by
.350. Strid also finished third on vault and bars.
Jennifer Christman (Fr., Benicia, Ca.) won the
vault for the second night in a row with a 9.475.
Seattle Pacific next tumbles at Division I,
University of Washington in a tri-meet with the Huskies and
Stanford on January 28. Official start time is scheduled for 2:00.
