SEATTLE (Jan.13) -- Brannon Stone scored 15 points, including a key 3-pointer in the final minute, and collected 12 rebounds as Seattle Pacific University held on for its eighth win in the last nine games, 79-66 over Northwest Nazarene in a Pacific West Conference game at Brougham Pavilion.

John Hubbard (Sr., 6-5, Inglewood, Ca.) added 14 points and Adam Harris (So., 6-0, Fox Island, Wa./Gig Harbor), making his first collegiate start, helped the Falcons preserve the victory by sinking 7-8 free throws in the final 4 minutes, 19 seconds.

The Crusaders (4-2, 7-8), behind James Thomas, put together a late rally, scoring 15 unanswered points to come within 66-60 with 4:22 remaining. But the Falcons proceeded to score 10 of their final 13 points from the foul line to take their 51st win in their last 53 home conference games.

Tim Johnson led Northwest Nazarene with 14 points, 10 coming in the second period, and Thomas had 12 and eight boards.

Stone (Jr., 6-9, Oak Harbor, Wa.) connected on a 22-footer which pushed the lead back to 74-62 with 2:25 to go. He had his team's only two field goals in the final 10 minutes

Seattle Pacific seized the lead for good 8 minutes into the contest and later pushed in front by 19 following a 15-2 run. Six different players figured in the scoring, which was punctuated by Darrell Walker's (Sr., 6-0, Marysville, Wa.) trey from the top of the key. Walker finished with 11 points and hit 3-5 3-pointers.

Early the second half the SPU lead reached 25. Hubbard provided the final seven points of an 11-2 spurt which made the score 54-29 with just over 14 minutes left. Seattle Pacific made a season-low 43 percent from the field, but held the Crusaders to 40 percent and made six more treys.
