BILLINGS, Mt.-Gus Balogh scored 14 points and
Stephanie Urrutia had 12, but 16th ranked Seattle Pacific
University was unable to avenge last year's first round NCAA
playoff loss, falling to Montana State-Billings 61-52 in a PacWest
women's basketball game Saturday night at Alterowitz Gymnasium.
Balogh (Sr., Szombathely, Hungary) was 7 of 15
from the field and had nine rebounds.
Urrutia (So., Sunnyside, Wa.) rebounded the
ball six times and assisted on three plays to go with her dozen
points on the night, and point guard Kerie Hughes (So., Mount
Vernon, Wa.) had nine points and five assists.
Seattle Pacific out-scored Montana
State-Billings from the floor, connecting on 23 of 65 shots. The
Yellowjackets were 19 of 63 but made 19 of 24 free-throws. SPU was
one for three from the foul line.
The Falcons have not won in Billings in the
last 10 tries.
Seattle Pacific (4-2, 9-2) is ranked No. 1 in
the West Region and returns to Seattle for its next contest
Thursday night at 5:30 PST against PacWest foe Alaska Anchorage.
