SEATTLE -- Following its fourth straight win,
the Seattle Pacific University men's basketball team has risen to
No. 15 in this week's NCAA Division II coaches poll.
The Falcons (6-2), who had been 19th last week,
defeated Willamette 85-81 Monday and are now idle until Dec. 29
when they host unbeaten Puget Sound (6-0) in the first round of
the Oak Harbor Freight Lines Holiday Classic.
The only other Pacific West Conference team in
the rankings is Humboldt State (8-1). Cal State San Bernardino,
which defeated Seattle Pacific in the season opener, is undefeated
and No. 9.
The next national ratings for women's
basketball is Jan. 3. SPU (6-1) is No. 19 in that poll and hosts
Northwest College Wednesday at 7.
