SEATTLE, Wa.-Brannon Stone's two free-throws
with 7.7 seconds remaining lifted Seattle Pacific University to an
85-81 victory over Willamette University in a men's basketball
game Monday night at Brougham Pavillion.
Stone (Jr., Oak Harbor, Wa.), who enjoyed a
fairly quiet night in the scoring column, finished with 12 points
and aided the Falcon effort with seven rebounds and a game high
five steals.
The Falcons got a game high 22 points from
center Eric Sandrin (Jr., Bothell, Wa./Shorecrest/Portland),
including 10 points in the pivotal last six minutes of the game.
Sandrin finished the game with seven rebounds and was one for two
from behind the arc.
John Hubbard (Sr., Inglewood,
Ca./Morningside/Grays Harbor) chipped in 16 points and point guard
Aaron Bellessa (So., Federal Way, Wa.) assisted on six plays.
Willamette got 17 points from Nik Lubisich and
14 from Kip Ioane.
The Falcons (6-2) take a short break for the
Christmas holiday and resume play December 29-30, hosting the Oak
Harbor Freightlines Classic. Tip-off against Puget Sound is
scheduled for 7:00, Oct. 29.
