Jul 10 -- SPU 2nd Among Track Teams in
Academics; 8 Individuals Honored
Seattle Pacific University finished second among NCAA Division II
women's teams in the 2007 U.S. Track & Field Coaches
Association academic team of the year competition. The Falcons,
with a team cumulative grade point average of 3.550, were
runners-up to national champion Lincoln (Mo.). Seven members of
the SPU women's squad and one male earned individual all-academic
honors from the USTFCCCA.

Jun 23 -- Falcons' Pixler, Randolph Make
U.S. Track Teams
Finishing second in the 1500 meters, Seattle Pacific University's
Jessica Pixler qualified for her first international meet Saturday
at the USA Junior Track & Field Championships. Pixler earned
an automatic berth on the U.S. team for the Pan American Junior
Games, July 6-8 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Meanwhile, former Falcon
decathlete Chris Randolph made the American team for a multi-event
dual meet with Germany in August.

Jun 22 -- Pixler to Run 1500 Final Saturday
at USA Track Championships
Seattle Pacific University runner Jessica Pixler received a free
pass to Saturday's 1500-meter final at the USA Junior Track &
Field Championships. Former Falcon Chris Randolph stands ninth
following the first five events of the men's decathlon.

Indy Track Championships This Weekend
Seattle Pacific University will be well-represented when the USA
Track & Field Championships get underway Wednesday in
Indianapolis. Two-time NCAA Division champion Jessica Pixler will
be joined by former decathlon champion Chris Randolph and Jeeni
Schantin, a recent transfer recruit.

Teona Perkins (European Studies, 3.70 GPA), Karin Rohde (Nursing,
3.82 GPA) and Eddie Strickler of Seattle Pacific University track
and field program have been voted to the ESPN The Magazine
Academic All-District VIII teams.

May 26 -- Seattle Pacific's Perkins, Pixler
Win NCAA Track Titles
Fourteen years after a Seattle Pacific University woman last won
a national outdoor track & field championship, Jessica Pixler
and Teona Perkins claimed a pair of crowns within 60 minutes
Saturday night. Pixler fought off a late challenge to take first
in the 1500 meters, and Perkins followed shortly thereafter with a
dramatic victory in the high jump at the NCAA Division II
Championships. With 32 points, Seattle Pacific finished seventh --
its best standing since 1993.

Track and Field Championships
Eight Seattle Pacific University have qualified for the NCAA
Division II track and field championships next week in Charlotte,
N.C. Those seeded third or higher include: Jessica Pixler, who
holds the top entry mark in the 1500 meters and is No. 2 in the
800; Brittany Bekins, No. 2 among javelin qualifiers and No. 3 in
the heptathlon; and Molly Barnes, third in the javelin.

Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's track and field athlete
of the week following his near-record performance at the Ken
Foreman Invitational.

Invitational Track and Field Meet
Eddie Strickler of Seattle Pacific University virtually clinched
a place at the NCAA Championships and the Falcons' Jessica Pixler
won for the fourth time in two weeks Saturday at the Ken Foreman
Invitational track and field meet at West Seattle Stadium.

Academic Track Honorees
Seattle Pacific University led all Great Northwest Athletic
Conference women's track and field teams with 13 individuals named
to the academic all-GNAC team. The Falcons, who won both the
women's GNAC indoor and outdoor championships, featured five
three-time selections: Kristin Janney, Jennifer Marsh, Victoria
Perkins, James Rosser and Eddie Strickler.

Getting a combined five victories from its 1-2 punch of Jessica
Pixler and NyEma Sims, Seattle Pacific University pulled away to
win a second straight women's crown at the Great Northwest
Athletic Conference track and field championships Saturday at
Civic Stadium. The SPU men were seventh.
