CIS is offering an internal instant messaging tool tied to your SPU account and Microsoft Outlook. Basic features include Chat, Video Conferencing and file sharing.
Lync is available to all current faculty/staff, plus current and former SPU students.
Former students will not have access to the SPU Download Center, but may use Lync through Webmail, the mobile apps or through the Office Suite if they already downloaded it while they were attending SPU.
Install Lync on an SPU-Managed Computer
Installing Lync is a quick and easy process! Click your Start Button -> Control Panel -> Run Advertised Programs. From the list of programs, highlight Microsoft Lync 2010x86 and choose Run.
Lync 2010 will automatically sign in when you start you log in to your computer after installation, with your SPU Username and Password.
Install Lync on an Personal Computer
Go to the SPU Download Center and select the version of Lync you would like to download. Lync 2010 for Windows and Mac is a stand-alone installation, while Lync 2013 comes with the Office Professional Plus 2013 suite. Follow the instructions on the SPU Download Center that are included with each product.
Download a Mobile App version of Lync for your iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch, Android Device, Windows Phone or Windows 8 device. Click the links above or visit your app store and search for "Lync" to download the app.

Unable to Share Programs
Microsoft Lync can share most programs. However, there are some that cannot be shared and instead you should use Desktop Sharing instead of Application Sharing.
