Download and MicroCase for Windows
These instructions will walk you through downloading and installing MicroCase on a personal Windows PC.

This license is for 1 year.

Remove all previous versions of MicroCase from your personal computer first.

System Requirements

  • Windows XP, Vista or 7
  • Processor: 1 GHz or higher
  • Memory: 1GB RAM or higher
  • Free Space on Hard Drive: 1.0 GB or more
How To:
  1. Click the Download Now link on the SPU Download Center. This will bring up a login screen. Log in with your SPU Username and Password.

  2. You will then be presented with a File Download Box. Select Save. Save the file to your desktop.

  3. Locate the file after download and move it to your desktop.

  4. Double click on the folder to view its contents. Double click the MicroCase file with the icon. You may see it say MicroCase.exe

  5. This is a zip file so you will need to extract the contents. Select Extract All when prompted.

  6. Locate the folder on your desktop where the files were extracted to and open it. Double click on the MicroCase file. You may see it say MicroCase.exe

  7. The software will begin installing. A window will pop up with the license information pre-filled for you. Select OK to complete the installation. The program will launch immediatly after.

Common Problems:

If you receive the following error messages when attempting to run SPSS or Amos after your installation:

Windows XP - This application has failed to start, because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstall of the application may fix this problem.

Windows 7 - The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

Install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable to fix the problem. View the IBM SPSS 19 Technote for instructions on how to do this.

We strongly encourage users to download software through an Ethernet connection rather than over wireless. You will receive better throughput and a faster download speed.
