In addition to SecurePrint, Scan to Email, and Scan/Print to/from a USB stick, Faculty and Staff can also submit Fax jobs from their computer and scan files directly to their SPU Documents folder on the server.
Paper is provided by the department hosting the MFP (Public ones are supported by CIS) and staples may be ordered through the CIS HelpDesk.
Submitting Personal Print Jobs
Personal print/copy jobs should be charged to the "Personal Account," which are funded with Debit Dollars through Campus Card Services. You cannot release jobs on the Personal Account if you do not have Debit Dollars loaded.
All functions listed on our MFP Functions page can be done by SPU Faculty and Staff. If you aren't familiar with the features, please take some time to look through the instructions we've created.
All print jobs submitted WebPrint, SecurePrint, or from a personal computer with the PaperCut Print Client installed, requires an individual to log into an MFP with either their SeaPac ID card or their SPU Username and Password to release the job.
You will also see this same log in screen when you want to use the Copy, Scan or Fax options at the machine.
Each MFP has instructions posted by the machine to walk you through printing, copying and scanning. More detailed instructions may be found on our MFP Functions page.
Printing from your SPU-Managed Computer
Each time you submit a print job, a PaperCut Client window should open, prompting you to select where to charge your print job. If this window does not appear, your print job will not be released.
Each Faculty and Staff Member, will have a "shared" account or what is commonly known as a Budget ID/Fund # (e.g. 5355-CIS) associated with their account when logging into the MFP or submitting print jobs from their SPU-Managed computer. These are specific to your department or program, and take an additional day to appear on your account.
Printing from Off Campus
If you have an SPU-Managed laptop, you can connect to VPN, to continue to use the Direct Print and SecurePrint options. However, on personal computers the only option available is to submit a print job through Web Print.
Configuring the Advanced Printer Settings on a document only works on jobs submitted via the PaperCut Print Client.
Jobs will only stay in the queue for a period of 72 hours. After that time has passed it will be deleted and individuals will need to resubmit their job.
If a public MFP is out of toner or paper, notify the CIS HelpDesk at email@example.com or 206-281-2982.
