Most campus students and staff are encouraged to use Webmail or Outlook 2007 to read their email. These two applications provide the most features and access to all of the Exchange mailbox resources including mail, calendars, contacts, public folders, tasks, notes, and mailbox settings/preferences. However, there are some email clients, such as Apple Mail, that require different email protocols and settings.
IMAP Client Support
There are several email protocols. SPU does not provide POP protocol support. We do provide IMAP support, but you should be aware that some Exchange features will not be available through IMAP.
There are also many different implementations of IMAP that vary between email clients. You will need the information below to configure an IMAP email client (such as Apple Mail, Outlook Express, or Mozilla Thunderbird) to view your SPU e-mail. You will also need to know your SPU Username and password.
