Most campus students and staff are encouraged to use Webmail or Outlook 2010 to access their email. These two applications provide the most features and access to email, calendars, contacts and more. There are other email clients or mobile devices that can be used to access your SPU email and require different email settings. You will also need to know your SPU Username and password.

How To:

Webmail

Use this address: http://www.spu.edu/webmail from any web browser.

Exchange

For use with Outlook 2007, 2010, Mac Mail on OSX 10.7 (Lion) and Outlook 2011 for Macs.

See Email Client Configuration for specific instructions.

Active Sync / Corporate Sync (Android)

For use with Windows Mobile and Apple iPhone and Android devices.

Server Address: outlook.office365.com

Enable Encryption: SSL

User Name: Your full SPU email address

Password: Your SPU Username password

Domain Name: Leave field empty

POP, IMAP and SMTP Access

For use with Blackberry mobile devices, Apple Mail 10.6 or older, Windows Live Mail, Outlook 2003 or older, Mozilla Thunderbird and other email clients. Many Exchange features will not be available through an IMAP connection. Each user has different server settings.

Log into Webmail to view your server settings

Click Options -> See All Options...

Under Account on the left hand side, and the My Account tab, click the link Settings for POP, IMAP, and SMTP access...

A new window will open with the server settings you need to use in order to configure your email client.

Common Problems:

Many computer users use email applications such as Outlook to check multiple accounts. We can support configuration for SPU accounts but are not able to troubleshoot other email configurations.
