Church and Parachurch Staff Tuition Discount

The Church and Parachurch Staff Tuition Discount Program offers a 50 percent tuition discount for full-time or part-time staff actively employed with an approved Christian church or parachurch organization, such as: Campus CrusadeInterVarsityNavigators, Union Gospel MissionUrban Impact, Young LifeYouth For Christ, or World Vision (Note: This is not an exclusive list.)

Eligible staff will receive this benefit on tuition costs for either: a) their first year of enrollment with Seattle Pacific Seminary, OR b) their first 40 credits of Seminary courses (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer quarter), whichever comes first.  This applies to students who are enrolled in the Master of DivinityMaster of Arts, or the Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies program.

This discount is extended to the first 10 students who apply each year. For more information, email seminary@spu.edu.



Murdock Discipleship Fellows Program

Each academic year, the Murdock Discipleship Fellows Programs offers four first-year seminarians a $600 monthly stipend and tuition scholarships for THEO 6001 and THEO 6002 classes (4 credits total) to organize and lead Christian discipleship groups, and be mentored and supported in vocational discernment (15–20 hours per week).

To be eligible, you must be an admitted first-year Seattle Pacific Seminary student between ages 22 and 27, and apply by March 1, 2014. Visit the MDF website for more information.



Graduate Assistantships and Ministry Employment Opportunities

A limited number of graduate assistantship funds (part-time on-campus employment) are available each school year. In general, graduate assistantships are for students who have completed at least one year of graduate work with Seattle Pacific Seminary. 

To be eligible, you must take at least nine credits a quarter, and must be making satisfactory progress toward degree completion. To apply, download the Graduate Assistantship Application and return it to

Also, part-time employment positions may be available in church and parachurch settings. These positions are not considered a part of your financial aid award.

John Wesley Seminary Foundation (JWSF) Grant/Loan

Students who are pursuing full-time ministry in the Free Methodist Church may qualify for this grant/loan opportunity. Qualified applicants must be a Conference Ministerial Candidate in the Free Methodist Church.
