Seminary Commissioning Service

Each spring, Seattle Pacific Seminary proudly commissions its graduating Master of Arts in Theology and Master of Divinity students into the Lord's service as theologians and ministers. Pictured above are Seminary faculty commissioning 2012's graduating Seminary students in First Free Methodist Church, Seattle, on June 7, 2012.

These nine students were part of the seminary's inaugural class, pioneers willing to take a chance on the Seminary's vision to integrate academic rigor with communal accountability and missional outreach.

Encompassed in a unique model of education we call "Academy, Abbey, Apostolate," the Seminary equips students to navigate and integrate the theoretical and academic with the need to be communally connected and accountable to fellow Christians, all while engaging our missional mandate to bring the message of hope to all people.
