SPU alumna and River Ridge High School drama teacher Leslie Van Leishout has been recognized for her outstanding teaching with a 2012 Golden Apple Award, one of the most prestigious educational honors in Washington state.
Van Leishout, who received an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership in 2012, will be honored during the 20th annual Golden Apple Awards show on KCTS-9 in February 2013. “Each and every day, she reminds us students about having passion for the arts,” wrote student Olivia Maassen in her nomination letter. “She is the epitome of what every teacher should be.”
