Dr. Bruce Baker presented CIB's first webinar on February 20, 2014. "A Truth-Seeker's Guide to Big Data" offers a thoughtful and engaging presentation of how big data reduces people to digital commodities, and measures to help preserve human dignity. The recorded presentation is available on CIB's YouTube channel or in CIB's iTunesU library (see left navigation bar), and includes both the audio track and the accompanying slides.
Interested in practical ecclesiology, economic sustainability, and entrepreneurship's place in the church? Dive into an intensive two-weekend course in January and February which includes visiting examples of social impact, church planting, and business as mission.

"The Digital Society" conference (hosted by CIB in June 2012) gathered technology developers, technology users, and technology resisters to rethink the Christian commentary on technology for the 21st century. What could this diverse gathering say about technology? Nothing was unanimous, but there was broad agreement around a collection of issues summarized in this recently-published paper. On January 16, 2014, Dr. Bryan Dik, Associate Professor of Psychology at Colorado State University, will talk about the theological and biblical understanding of calling. He's a well-known speaker and author, and we look forward to welcoming him to the SPU campus. More info »
