We are delighted that Alan Barnhart (CEO of Barnhart Crane & Rigging) is coming to the SPU campus for an invitation-only breakfast event on June 11. If you are involved in a family business and would like to attend, please contact cib@spu.edu for additional information.

The Business: Barnhart Crane & Rigging aims to be “the best heavy lift and heavy transport company.” Its expertise includes projects in accelerated bridge construction, nuclear power generation, petroleum refining, power transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and much more.

The Brothers: When Alan and Eric Barnhart assumed leadership of the family’s business in 1986, their first steps included a promise to keep their lifestyles simple and modest and to be generous with the business more broadly.

Webinar: Remembering the Sabbath

Dr. Denise Daniels will present Remembering the Sabbath in a free webinar on May 29. Sabbath is one of Dr. Daniels' interests and has been the subject of some of her research and publications. She will examine scriptural foundations, historical understanding, and practices of Sabbath, and help us take a fresh look at this important element of living with greater personal and professional integrity. The presentation will be followed by Q&A.
