Itinerary/Syllabus

The first half of the trip students are assigned to work in a 250-bed children’s hospital in Hue, a city well known for its architecture and monuments.

Students partner with a Vietnamese nursing student and an English-speaking Vietnamese physician who teaches students and helps with translation.

During the latter half of this study abroad trip, the SPU and Vietnamese students travel to outlying rural areas and work out of clinics and make home visits. The focus there is on providing basic hygiene information such as hand-washing and management of garbage.
