Dr. Jennifer Maier teaches literature and creative writing and serves as an associate editor at the arts quarterly, Image. Maier is a graduate of the University of Washington and Tulane University in New Orleans, where her doctoral research explored the relationship between photography and poetry in America in the early 20th century. Her book of poetry, Dark Alphabet, won the 2005 Crab Orchard Review First Book Award.
Dr. Katie Kresser, assistant professor of art history, received her doctorate master's degree from Harvard University, and her bachelor's degree from Indiana University. Her research focuses on the theory and philosophy of art, with a special emphasis on issues surrounding the rise of modern art in the early 20th century. Her historical and critical work has appeared in American Art, The Journal of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and in the arts quarterly Image.
