Kyoto, Japan, Theology Study Trip
On the Kyoto Study Abroad trip, students will take an intensive study trip that includes readings, lectures, discussions, and tours that relate to the world’s major religious traditions outside of Christianity — Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism, Shintoism, Judaism and Islam.
Students are introduced to the historic roots, major doctrinal developments, and worship practices of each tradition and asked to reflect critically and comparatively to the Christian faith on each tradition. First undertaken in September 2008, the Kyoto study abroad trip is led by SPU theology faculty.
