Global Education: Study Abroad
SPU Study Abroad Photo Contest
Beyond being an exciting and memorable time, study abroad is an excellent way for students to increase intercultural sensitivity, gain global competence, build self-confidence, make connections in other parts of the world, and come back with unique and meaningful stories. Our first annual photo contest encapsulates many of these moments.About the Contest
-
Students were asked to submit photos that portrayed the essence of their study-abroad experience. We asked that the photos capture the student and fellow classmates as they interacted with local populations, partook in unique experiences, and made cultural observations. The photos also needed to represent the ideals of study abroad: academic/experiential learning, cultural appreciation, international awareness, and fun (of course!).
Winners and Honorable Mentions
-
Our judges were impressed by the quality of photos submitted, which made it difficult to come to agreement on this year's winners. Thank you to all of the photo contest participants, and congratulations to the winners of the first SPU Study Abroad Photo Contest!
