Tom Amorose, Professor of English, has a long history of travel in Britain beginning with a grad-school summer spent travelling across the UK and Europe, then a teaching stint in British colleges during his assistant professor days.

In 2000, Dr. Amorose led SPU's British Isles Quarter from from London to Oxford, Stratford, and Bath, teaching Shakespeare and travel writing along the way. When he's on campus, he teaches Shakespeare, creative nonfiction, early English literature, and Tudor/seventeenth-century poetry.

"The best part of British Isles Quarter," he says, "is watching students record, in journals, travel essays and personal memoirs, their encounters with the countryside, towns, and cities of Britain. You can see in their writing how they open up to the experience they're finding for themselves while traveling."
