CHEMISTRY MAJOR
Suggested Course Sequence: A Four-Year Plan

At least 82 total and 32 upper-division credits are required for the BA in Chemistry major. This course sequence is meant to be used as a guideline. Consult with your faculty advisor or academic counselor about modifying this plan to meet your needs, and to reflect any coursework you have already completed prior to enrolling at SPU.

Major	CHM 3371, PHY 1101 OR PHY 1121	CHM 3372, PHY 1102, OR PHY 1122	CHM 3373, PHY 1103, OR PHY 1123
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, NSA, NSB (Choose one depending on competency courses required.)
Other	Apply for admission to the major once a minimum 2.5 GPA has been successfully achieved in SPU Chemistry courses.			Electives to reach at least 90 credits if needed

Major	CHM 3225, CHM 3401			11 credits in CHM courses are required.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other		Apply to graduate once 105 credits and admission to major have been earned.		Electives to reach at least 135 credits if needed

YEAR 4	Autumn	Winter	Spring	Any Quarter
Common Curriculum
Major	CHM 4361			CHM 4899 (must be taken twice for a total of 2 credits), 11 credits in CHM courses are required.
Competencies Exploratory Curriculum (EC)				AHA, AHB, AHC, SSA, SSB, NSA (whichever categories remain unfulfilled)
Other	Create a final-year plan and meet with your faculty advisor for review.			Electives to reach at least 180 total college-level quarter credits and 60 upper-division credits if needed
