Local pastors, Christian leaders, and people of faith from around Puget Sound will gather on Monday, December 15, for a time of worship and reflection about racial justice. Titled “Seattle Evangelicals for Racial Justice,” the event is sponsored by Seattle Pacific University and will be held at 7 p.m. at First Free Methodist Church, 3200 Third Avenue West, adjacent to campus. The event is open to the public and wheelchair accessible.
The purpose of the event is for evangelical Christians in the Puget Sound area to come together to worship, pray, encourage, and challenge each other on the need for racial justice in today’s society.
“We believe we are at a crucial moment when the church needs to unite when our country is so divided over issues of race,” says Bo Lim, interim chaplain at SPU. “The evening will be an opportunity to hear how all Christians can make a difference and partner with each other.”
