“Helping Youth to Flourish” is the theme for SPU's annual "Day of Common Learning" on Wednesday, October 16, beginning at 10 a.m. in Royal Brougham Pavilion. The keynote speaker is Dr. Thomas Maridada, director of National Education Policy, Practice, and Strategic Initiatives for the Children’s Defense Fund. From teacher, principal, and superintendent to one of the country’s most sought-after education leaders, Maridada has acted as a “school turn-around specialist” for challenging schools and districts in the country.
A wide array of seminars around the theme will be offered in the afternoon. The public is invited to the keynote address and the afternoon sessions. Check back for more information.
