Torch Quartet
Trumpeter and SPU Assistant Professor of Music Brian Chin presents a recital by his new chamber music ensemble, Torch, on Tuesday, February 5, 7:30 p.m. in First Free Methodist Church, adjacent to the SPU campus. The quartet’s original compositions are poised between progressive jazz, post-rock, and contemporary classical music. “Torch” is a reference to Thomas Mann’s aesthetic mantra, “Art is the sacred torch that must shed its merciful light into all life’s terrible depths.”
The concert is free and wheelchair accessible.
