The School of Education is pleased to announce that Professor of Education Greg Fritzberg and doctoral candidate Suzannah Calvery have successfully partnered with 13 Seattle public schools in obtaining a total of $340,000 in City of Seattle and Washington state grants for the 2012-13 academic year. These grants will be devoted to case management, classroom assistance, and tutoring for low income and/or high risk youth.
Twelve of these 13 schools are in Seattle’s south end and central area. The funding will provide approximately 75 part-time jobs for Seattle Pacific and other local university students. The grants will be funneled through the nonprofit organization "University Tutors for Seattle Students," which Professor Fritzberg directs.
