Governor Chris Gregoire has directed that Washington State and United States flags at all Washington State agency facilities be lowered to half-staff Thursday, June 2, in memory of U.S. Army Specialist Adam J. Patton of Port Orchard, Washington. Patton, 21, died May 26 of injuries sustained in Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated near him.
The governor asks that other government entities, citizens, and businesses join in this recognition.
